POV: You’re the FBI agent watching Cupid get ready for Valentine’s Day.

Hi friends,

For Valentine’s Day, I decided to be cheesy and make a Get Ready with Me video as if I were Cupid. All the oufits are inspired by things I would wear if I was a mystical being tasked with making humans fall in love. Also, I just want to say I’M NOT A MAKEUP ARTIST so please don’t come for my chewed up makeup brushes that my dog got to. And half my makeup is from high school – I know I need to do better but I hate wasting things and my skin isn’t reacting badly to it yet sooo… I’m going to keep using it for now. YIKES.

I’m digressing now but quick rant that I just want to get off my chest. I put this website as my portfolio on my resume and now I’m starting to regret it!!!! I want to show employers that I can make websites, graphics, videos, etc. but this is also my personal blog and I wanted to put my personality into it too, ya know? My blog personality is not professional enough for this to be my portfolio website lmaoodjfkdsl but now I feel like I’m in too deep and don’t want to make a separate site.

What was that? You said you wanted a quick makeup and skincare review from someone who’s not a makeup artist and is also not a skincare/makeup connoiseur? Okay!! Also, quick disclaimer that none of these things are sponsored. Okay, things I’m loving: The Ordinary skincare, Nars “Maldives” Highlighter (that I got from Marshall’s because ya girl is not buying $30+ highlighters) I recently got a few things from The Ordinary and I love how pure/simple the ingredients are and how affordable they are. I love the rose hip oil and hyluronic acid. I’m iffy about the plant squalane and ascorbic acid + alpha arbutin (one of their vitamin c serums.) I love vitamin c but don’t really see a difference in my skin with this one. The plant squalane isn’t the consistency I like and I don’t feel that hydrated using it. Other things I don’t recommend: Urban Decay 24/7 eyeliner – uhhhhhhh that eyeliner might stay on for 24 minutes before it starts smudging. To be fair, I didn’t use powder or eyeshadow primer but if you’re going to call yourself a 24/7 eyeliner, you should stay on for 24 hours at the MINIMUM…. why should I have to take extra steps to make you stay???? Thank god I got all my Urban Decay sample size makeup from my Sephora points.

ANYWAYS Valentine’s Day is coming up and it’s really a marketing scam to get people to buy overpriced chocolates and put value into materialistic items to show someone you care about them because your love and affection just isn’t enough in this capitalistic world. But I’m not here to talk about capitalist marketing scams. I’m here to inspire you to put a little more self care into your daily routine. It doesn’t have to be the self care that’s marketed to you on social media – you don’t need to buy things to feel good. It can be taking time to do your makeup, skincare, clothes or whatever makes you feel good!! Put some effort into it and enjoy the act of doing it. Your mood, your walk, your ~energy~, everything is different when you feel good. It’s important to give yourself quality time and it doesn’t have to be for a special event or significant other. I got into a lazy routine and wasn’t taking time to make myself feel good. It’s about getting into the “dress for the job/life you want” mentality. I dedicated February as my self-care month. SORRY FOR THE CHEESINESS. I’m sure you have a lot of things to do so I’ll stop rambling now and let you enjoy a little mood board at the bottom.
