Italian Summer Dreams

Hydrated, glowing skin; glossy lips, rosy cheeks; silky, wavy, volumized hair. I’m wearing that sheer, green Jacquemus La Robe Calghera dress from the SS19 collection, exploring the Italian coast. I just left the farmer’s market. Of course I used my reusable bags. God, I’m so wholesome and eco-friendly. You’re welcome, sea turtles. Now I’m eating pasta somewhere with a good view of the coastline. Maybe even a charcuterie board. No, definitely a charcuterie board too. A glass of wine or two. I have an obnoxious amount of sunscreen on. I reapply my gloss. The sun is setting. There’s a slight breeze that makes the heat bearable. I’m thriving.

P.S. I narrate my mood board fantasies like one of those overly cliche, rom-com writers. Let me live.

Disclaimer: I don’t know if the photo in the mood board is actually of Italy. I pulled it from my Tumblr and it’s what I imagine Italy to be like. Just putting this disclaimer so the internet doesn’t come for me.

♣ Wardrobe ♣

  1. Silky Scarf
  2. Straw Hat
    • I have a difficult head that looks weird in most hats but in this fantasy, I look great in hats so I’m wearing a straw hat and there’s a breeze that makes the heat bearable but not strong enough to make my hat fly off.
  3. Nike Sandals
    • Bury me in these sandals. Seriously, I’ve had them for years and they’re still my go-to and in great condition for how often I wear them.
  4. Silky, Midi-Length Night Slip That’d Doubles As a Sundress
    • I’d wear bike shorts underneath so you can explore with no worries about flashing innocent strangers (especially if it’s windy).
  5. Woven Basket
    • So I can put all my farmer’s market goodies and flowers in it
    • Or, if you want to be realistic, you’re not going to want to be carrying around a bag while exploring but I’m living a fantasy here so woven bag it is.

♥ Beauties & Etc. ♥

  1. Journal
    • To write down my frustrations or sketch in.
  2. Badger Mineral Clear Zinc Sunscreen
    • This doubles as a primer for me and it gives a nice, dewy finish. Plus it doesn’t make me break out like other sunscreens.
  3. Vitamin C and/or Rosehip Oil
    • I’m iffy about vitamin C during the day but I use it at night for glowy skin. Rose hip oil is a good moisturizer and I like to use face oils as highlighter for a more natural look.
  4. Aquaphor Balm
    • Basically just petroleum jelly but to me it’s not as greasy as Vaseline. I use it as chapstick or in a pinch, moisturizer. I only use a pea size and put it where I’d put highlighter when I use it as moisturizer.
  5. Lipstick That Doubles As Blush
    • I also repurposed a lipstick that made me look washed out as a cream blush.
    • Or get a multi-stick if you’re not cheap like me
  6. Eyebrow Gel
  7. Milani Keep It Nourish Lip Plumper in Rosy Bronze
    • A dupe for the original Fenty gloss. Sorry Rihanna :\
