If Wes Anderson called me right now and told me to make a mood board for a retro-futurism Woodstock film he was making, I’d show him this one. I’m decades behind the film nerds on the Wes Anderson hype train hehe. I’ve been attracted to complementary colors, the 70s, psychedelic, Woodstock style. Crazy to think there was a time I used to wear all black.

All I can dream about during this pandemic are my travel plans when it’s over. I’m dying for a Vietnam/Japan trip. I’d love to thrift in both countries as well as learn how to cook more Vietnamese food from my grandma. This pandemic has given me ample time for self-reflection. I want to continue growing my filming/video editing skills, Depop store and learn more about my culture.

I’ve visited Vietnam since coming to the U.S. but I never appreciated or tried to learn more about my home country. I can’t write fluent Vietnamese and my verbal Vietnamese isn’t as stellar as it could be. I don’t know how to cook Vietnamese food like my mom. She tells me to go online for the recipes but it’s just not the same. My grandma taught her how to cook and I want to learn that way too. I want to make a recipe book and a cooking/recipe video with my families’ Vietnamese recipes. Not trying to go all sentimental and Tumblr-deep on you, but my grandparents are getting older so if I don’t make the effort to learn now, it could be too late later. I want to spend a summer in Vietnam because I don’t know much about my family, our history or our culture.
