The holiday season can bring forth a range of emotions. From the joys (or dread) of spending time with family to gift-gifting stress and over-eating guilt. We’re bombarded with numerous sales and products. Tis the season for obnoxious product marketing. Top it off with the nostalgia of 2019 being the end a decade and it can get a biiiit overwhelming. Amidst all the consumerism and overindulgent “treat yourself” moments, I wanted no needed to step back, breathe and appreciate the people and things that I already have. For me, the 2010s was a time of youth, rebellion and growth. I got my first car, made new friends, lost old friends, graduated high school and college, lived on my own, started my spiritual journey, found my independence, landed my first big-girl job, traveled the world and so much more. It’s great to look back and appreciate moments but we should also look forward. It’s not just the end of a decade but also the beginning of a new one so I made this atypical advent calendar filled with moments, people and things I’m grateful for and also things I’m looking forward to. Each day I will be revealing one new thing.
Here’s to the people and moments that helped shape me, upcoming opportunities, amazing experiences, good food, kindness, laughing to the point to tears, starry nights and pretty sunsets, golden sunlight, turning dreams into reality, cool breezes, hot summers, fall leaves, spending time with people who matter most, striving to be a better person, good health, prosperity, abundance, more cringey-cliche paragraphs like this and even better things than I could imagine.
